The MBTA Assistant Chef is responsible for working with the Head Chef to coordinate menus and grocery orders for lunch and dinner meals for two days at the Michigan Branch of Telluride Association (MBTA). The Assistant Chef is also responsible for supporting the general kitchen operations and ingredient/meal preparation under the direction of the Head Chef. Kitchen staff must maintain a high standard of cleanliness, consistent with State of Michigan Health Codes, both of the kitchen and their person. Duties include but are not limited to coordination with Head Chef on menu and grocery planning, preparing lunch and dinner meals on scheduled meal shifts that meet all house dietary needs and restrictions, supporting Head Chef in ingredient and meal preparation on prep shifts, and cleaning of food preparation utensils, pots, and equipment. This position reports directly to the MBTA Head Chef, with support from the Michigan Program Manager.

Compensation: $22.50-$24.21/hour, depending on experience

Benefits Eligible Position. Benefits program offers an additional 30% of position pay to be used on benefits including retirement, health insurance, and other options selected by employee.

Hours: 34 hrs/5 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday). Evening and weekend hours required.
